There's not enough talent here to design a worthy flag. Although those in power or in the media might try convince everyone otherwise. Without fail, these same people try to incorporate something Maori into the flag because they're a national treasure.

Both the Australia and NZ flags are based on the British Blue Ensign. No one has a monopoly on it. It's like if the different Canadian provinces fought over who had a monopoly on the Red Ensign.

The average person either side of the ditch doesn't care. This is just a politician acting up due to the spat over Australia returning criminals to NZ.

If he really placed NZ first, as he named his own political party, he'd be understanding of this Australian policy, support it and push to do the same here. There are plenty of scumbags that could be deported from NZ.
