Default GEDMatch result from Tarquinia (VT), Lazio

Tarquinia is a city about 100 km (60 mi) northwest of Rome, and was an important area of settlement going back to the Villanovan period and, especially, the Etruscans. It's also home to the famous Etruscan Monterozzi necropolis.

Interesting how the Central Italian speaking regions of Lazio are basically Tuscan-like or a little south of Tuscans. Then as soon as you get Neapolitan speaking Frosinone they're all clustering around "South_Italian". Showing once again how often genetics and language are strongly linked.
Thanks for posting these btw, keep it up.

There is a genetic gap between Central and South Italy that happens close to the Lazio/Campania border, and it is due to a sharp increase in Near Eastern elements around that area, I believe. You see this if you run people through Eurogenes K36 and then view their similarity maps.

A similar gap exists between mainland and island Greece.

    You've already posted his results.

He is an old man from Tarquinia, with grandparents mostly from Tarquinia, Lazio, and a great-grandfather or something like that, from Marche.
