Nope. Where was the EU during the Hanseatic Era, the Golden Age, the 1870-1920 era, the 1950s-1960s ? The only thing the EU is good at, has been the transfer of wealth from productive regions to parasitical corruptistans. The Rhine, that has always connected us to the German heartland, and the North Sea that connects us to the world have always been there and they are the engines of the Dutch economic machine: the Netherlands is a transit port and trade hub for both German, Dutch and global trade.
EU membership brought us absolutely nothing. In every conceivable meaning of the word: nothing.

it's not European Union money. we don't get that much and of the little we get we return most of it because there are no projects getting in (our corrupt administration does not validate the projects unless they get serious bribe, so most of the money returns to the EU, don't worry
the 300-million euro development of one of my city's zones was entirely local and the investor will even get a profit out of it because there are a whole lot of foreign corporations (US mostly, but also EU) opening offices there

Bosch invests EUR 25 mln in new engineering center in Cluj-Napoca
https://www.romania-insider.com/bosc...g-center-cluj/German group Bosch, an international leader in the equipment and services sector, has started the construction of its new engineering center in Cluj-Napoca, central Romania.
Bosch opened its engineering center in Cluj-Napoca in 2013 and currently has some 400 employees working for this center in several locations in the city. The new building will bring all these employees together under the same roof.
“Bosch has expanded its research and development activity in Romania in the last five years, so we have decided to develop our own building for the Cluj Engineering Center,” said Mihai Boldijar, Bosch group’s representative to Romania.
“This shows once more Bosch’s commitment to develop solutions and technologies for the future in Romania,” he added.
Bosch plans to invest some EUR 25 million in this center. The company will be located in Cluj-Napoca’s center, within the DaVinci software development campus. It will have six levels and a total surface of 16,000 sqm and should be finalized by end-2019.
The engineering center in Cluj has a strong cooperation with the group’s factory in Jucu, near Cluj-Napoca, and with other Bosch centers worldwide.

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) will officially become an emerging market as of Monday, September 21, when the first two Romanian companies will be included in the FTSE Global Equity Index Series (GEIS).
This is a historic moment for Romania and its capital market, which will thus enter the radar of a wider category of investors, namely the emerging markets funds.
