Why do MOST British singers not sing with a British accent?

The Beatles and Queen sounds American to me.
BUT

Ed Sheeran do sound British. You can listen to this song



He pronounces "dancing" in British accent, and Beyoncé pronounces dancing like an American. Just an exemple, of couse you gonna notice his accent in the whole song.

the effort singers make to sing (especially loud) tends to make closed vowels( that give the british sound) sound more open thus de britishsizing the accent. some british artist do that so much they almost sound american

generally the quieter it is the more accent they can retain (most Beatles song still sound sang by british guys)
