Nimed Marmortahvlil is my favorite war movie.
It focuses on a bunch of schoolboys who joined the newly created Estonian army to fight against the massive Soviet hordes in 1918.

The 9th Company (Russian: 9 Рота)
It's a good, recent Russian film about the failed Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. Really relevant right now considering the American-led Coalition's guerrilla war over there at the moment.
Another great war film is Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War, a South Korean film about the Korean War. It follows the lives of two brothers who end up on opposite sides of the conflict. Awesome battle scenes right throughout.
