How did AncestryDNA do with your ethnic breakdown?
    Ireland 79%
    Scotland 21%

I'm going to be posting a thread about my results in the AncestryDNA section shortly.

AncestryDNA and 23andme are not science they are too commercialized in "tell customer what they want to hear" instead of the truth.

The truth doesn't sell well in the capitalist market place :

Truth has no manners. It is no respecter of persons. It wounds kings as deeply as commoners. It cuts down the high, and confirms the lowness of the low. It may dress up for formal occasions, but it does so only in order that it may more shockingly expose itself in front of the assembled company. And just as it respects no one, likewise there are few who respect it. But those who do are granted many favors -- power, understanding, dominion, and of course the honor of the unswerving hatred of the ignorant millions.

Compare your official 23andme results with real science :

^ Now so not get me wrong I am not saying K13 is correct for you either as it is mentally retarded Polack science IMHO.

Is it normal for siblings to show significant discrepancies? My brother also got his AncestryDNA results, here are his gedmatch results:

    My brother:
    North_Atlantic 50.69 Pct
    Baltic 25.82 Pct
    West_Med 13.96 Pct
    West_Asian 6.49 Pct
    East_Med -
    Red_Sea 0.17 Pct
    South_Asian - 1.69
    East_Asian -
    Siberian - 0.25
    Amerindian 0.77 Pct
    Oceanian 0.13 Pct
    Northeast_African -
    Sub-Saharan -

    Mine:
    North_Atlantic 47.57 Pct
    Baltic 25.74 Pct
    West_Med 13.48 Pct
    West_Asian 7.83 Pct
    East_Med 3.61 Pct
    Red_Sea 0.74 Pct
    South_Asian -
    East_Asian -
    Siberian -
    Amerindian 0.81 Pct
    Oceanian 0.21 Pct
    Northeast_African -
    Sub-Saharan -

His results are more typical for what an ethnic Irish person should be getting, so naturally his closest population distances are Scottish and Irish, whereas mine are Northwest German and Dutch.

    My AncestryDNA results were:
    Irish 79%
    Scottish 21%

    His:
    Irish 80%
    Scottish 15%
    Welsh 3%
    English and Northwest Europe 2%

    So little difference there.

I think your results reflect a reasonable range - from what I have seen a given component (i.e. North Atlantic, Baltic, etc) can differ by as much as 2-3%, between siblings.

Yeah there's quite a few differences there, your brother even has 0% east med vs your 3 and a half percent..
