A collective ignorance in the post but also in the series, as well as in the general knowledge. Let me enlighten you a little a bit.

'Emperor of 7 climates, saying came from the Western Göktürks, when they reached the height of their power in 590's a civil war broke in Sasanian Iran and one of the fighting rival faction took refuge in the khaganate, owing allegance to the khagan. Turks wrote a letter to Constantinople back then telling Romans that Turks are now masters of 7 climates with Persians also paying tribute.

Ottomans became empire by taking Constantinople in 1453 AD. But they didn't want to use 'Emperor, title since it was considered kafir and belonging to Greeks and Latins.
They digged historical source and resurrected the old Sasanian title PADISHAH. Until 1922 the Ottoman monarchs used that Sasanian title for the sake of avoid the Emperor title.

Ottomans were Turko-Anatolians + Balkan people, they used Padishah as official title and only title, but he was also Caesar of the Romans, Caliph of Islam.

He inherited full authority over Eastern Roman territories, Arab territories.

So when Arabs asked who is Caliph, they would point them to Suleiman
When Greeks would ask Who is the Emperor they would point them to Suleiman

People then were not Nationalists like you or anyone else then, only religion matters.

When I was learning Byzantine history related to 4th -8th century Patriarch and Emperor were always in some kind of heated debate and Emperor was always reminding Patriarch about his place in court especially when there were multiple factions who were debating nature of jesus.

Emperor always argued that He is God's image on Earth and that they should follow him instead of their own desires.

But it's true that if Emperor has to remind everyone very few days that he is an Emperor something is not working as intended.

    Ottomans, saving their sons?

The Caliphs killed their own children once there is an appointed heir. The others, they don't really care for anyway since they're harem bastards.

Also, when a prince of the Turks becomes a Caliph, he kills and murders all his other brothers!!!

As a Christian, I was taught to love and cherish my brother, not kill him.

Not killing your own children, brothers or uncles is something the Ottomans need to learn.

Austria's Ambassador Ogier Ghiselin de Busbecq, who stayed in the Ottoman Empire during the rule of Suleiman I, said:

"It is an unfortunate thing to be a son of [Ottoman] emperors. It is because when one of them succeeds to the throne, the others then wait for their death. If the emperor's brother is alive, the army's requests never end. When the emperor does not accept their demand, then they cry 'God save your brother,' which shows their will to enthrone him."
