Americans: What is your amount of colonial blood?

By this, I mean, what % of your biological ancestry comes from people who lived in America in 1776?

I did the math once. Maybe 43%? I'm assuming the lines I can't trace are colonial, but that may not be the case.

Colonial lines are by far the best documented for most Americans. I can trace most of my family tree back to England.

Once you get past, say, 1800 or so. But a lot of mine dead-end in the mid-1800s. And even those cases where I'm sure I'm connected to some colonial family, I often can't bridge the gap around 1800.

My mother's side of the family goes back to Virginia in the 1600s, not including the Indian tribes, there. My father's family came over very late, about 1900. So I'm a half breed.
