Re 1, what I mean is that even a very pale, square-jawed Nordic type would not look as odd in Iberia, Italy or the Southern Balkans as a very dark Gracile Med would in Scandinavia, Netherlands, Germany and even possibly Britain.

Re 3, while as you say very few Gulf Arabs would pass in Turkey, I think some Turks could pass among the (relatively) light, more West Asian-looking Gulf Arabs.
