MENA Hierarchy

So every region in the world has their groups that believe they are superior and others inferior. Sometimes this translates to other people seeing those groups who believe themselves superior as being arrogant or full of themselves. In a European context I believe the English, French, Germans, Italians, and Spaniards have all been accused of such at various points in history for example, and in East Asia the Chinese and Japanese have been prime culprits in this regard.

I am largely ignorant of the opinions of the MENA world but curious, which groups think they are superior and which groups are generally seen as inferior? Which groups are seen by the other groups as being most arrogant or full of themselves?

Again I can't say I know, but I've heard from others that Turks and Iranians think they are the best? Some say the Gulf Arabs think they are superior?

There is no «MENA hierarchy» but OF COURSE it exists lots of stereotypes in the region towards most countries... like everywhere else! Doesn’t mean it’s the truth ;-)

So you're saying that unlike Europe and East Asia where certain groups thought themselves superior to all others, this never existed in the MENA world? Somehow I doubt it.

I believe I once read that many Iranians resented the Islamic conquest and subsequent Islamification of their civilization because they believed Arabs were inferior to them for example. A similar sentiment was in place among Arabs during the Rashudin/Umayyad Caliphate if I recall, where Arabs were seen as the most prestigious group and the ones to be trusted with positions of power, etc.

Well they are Muslims and ruled over most of the Near East/North Africa, so I suppose they should be included.
