For people who aren’t accustomed to these two groups, they might have a problem to tell them apart. As both the English and Germans are related and mainly Northern European by race or sub - race whatever one makes of it. Although as in every race, there are different phenotypes. Thus we will look at their most common phenotypes in England and Germany and then move from there.

    England main phenotypes
    Keltic Nordid.
    Anglo - Saxon.
    North Atlantid.
    Paleo Atlantid.
    Hallstatt Nordid.
    Tronder.
    Borreby.
    Dalofaelid.
    Norid.

    Germany main phenotypes
    Borreby
    Dalofaelid
    West Alpinid
    Norid
    Keltic Nordid
    Anglo - Saxon
    Tavastid ( East Baltid)
    Dinarid
    Hallstatt Nordid

England is 100% Northern European by race. While Germany is 80% Northern European by race and the rest is divided between Central and East European races. The frequency of phenotypes that could be found in both populations varies. This where they share commonality, others are wise are different.

Funny because I actually believe it's rather the opposite.
My observation is that Northern Germans (as well as Scandinavians) actually tend to have more 'ectomorph types' (tall and skinny) than English people.

Also, Britain overall has a higher percentage of obese people than Germany, so that might influence it, too.
English 'tall and skinny'? Don't make me laugh...

British-descended Americans are probably among the most overweight people on Earth!

No, Germans and Irish are generally more UP, than the English, but the Irish are less fat than the Germans because it is a matter of borreby vs Brunn. Why aren't German Americans fat too retard ?

Northern Spaniards ? Really ? More like Northern French/Belgian/Dutch maybe but I have never been to those countries so I am not sure.

Yes and no. It really depends on the individuals. At least in this case, I can tell that this woman is English.

That is the thing though the average English person is probably as Germanic as middle Germany but not really northern Germany or southern as Bavarian but maybe I am wrong.

It depends how you gauge a Germanic look. The English are fair to pale-skinned, while Bavarians and Middle Germans are not as fair either, they tan like heck. The English average is not that different from North Germans, perhaps slightly less blond, but just as blue or light-eyed and fairer in skin color. The English have way more gingers than Nort Germans. So your "Germanic" qualifications might fail. According to Roman historian Tacitus, the people of Ancient Germania are described as having reddish hair. This is more common among the English than Germans.
