Well this is worrying if true.

A string of volcanoes sitting underneath Melbourne could erupt at any moment and send lava flowing through the city's streets, an expert has warned.
The little-known Newer Volcanic Province has about 400 volcanoes stretching from Melbourne to South Australia's Mount Gambier, just over the Victorian border.
Tasmanian volcanologist Doctor Rebecca Carey said although the last eruption was about 5,000 years ago, Melbourne locals should prepare for potential disaster.

'From what we can establish now, we're in a long phase of dormancy and that there is the possibility of an eruption in this province,' Dr Carey told 60 Minutes.
Dr Carey is in Hawaii where she is studying the active Kilauea volcano, which destroyed hundreds of homes in just one night in June.
She said similar impacts could be seen in Melbourne and Victoria's south-west.
