"Wælheall" is a simple instrumental song made up of lyre, flute, and drums, meant to resemble and pay tribute to the music created in Anglo-Saxon England, and in the wider continental Germanic world as well.

'Samhain' (pronounced as 'Sow-ween') is a major Celtic Witchcraft and Pagan festival with ancient origins in the British Isles and Ireland that celebrates the New Year in the natural New Year of nature's cycle, every 31st October. (This ancient English and Irish New Year festival is now called 'Halloween.')

It's the time of year in nature when the daylight hours and the dark night hours are equal in length in the Northern Hemisphere of the planet. The evenings are long, grey, and dark by around 4pm. It's when the veil between the spiritual world and the carnal world is believed to be at its thinnest, so lots of divination is performed to connect with ghosts and spirits during the Pagan Witchcraft festival of Samhain/Halloween.

Does this type of music originate from medieval times?

It sounds ancient to me... like from 1000 years ago before the Norman Conquest of England. The instruments sound kind of primitive and more ancient than the more elaborate, intricate, and more sophisticated medieval instruments. There's some interesting comments underneath the video on YT.

Greensleeves (which I posted on page 2 of this thread) sounds more like medieval English music.

This is a song that was written in the 1400's in England. It's from 15th century England.

"The British Grenadiers" is a traditional marching song of British and Canadian military units whose badge of identification features a grenade, the tune of which dates from the 17th century. It is the Regimental Quick March of the Royal Artillery (since 1716), Corps of Royal Engineers (since 1787), the Honourable Artillery Company (since 1716), Grenadier Guards 'The First (later 'Grenadier') Regiment of Foot Guards' (since 1763), and the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (since 1763).

"Rule, Britannia!" is a traditional British patriotic song, originating from the poem "Rule, Britannia" by James Thomson and set to music by Thomas Arne in 1740. It is strongly associated with the Royal Navy, but also used by the British Army.

Here's the song being performed at The Proms in west Central London's Royal Albert Hall.

The Proms is an eight-week summer season of daily orchestral classical music concerts and other events held annually, predominantly in the Royal Albert Hall in central London.

Sarah Connolly (dressed as Admiral Lord Nelson,) gave an excellent performance of this very popular and traditional British song at the annual Proms, with the massive audience (both inside and outside of the Royal Albert Hall) singing the chorus parts: 'Rule Britannia! Britannia rules the waves! Britons never, never, never, shall be slaves!'
