I'm not sure how that's how it worked. There were very few Jews in America during colonial times. Most of them came over in the 20th Century. The United States is a Christian nation.
I believe it is a practice felt strongly by our Founding Fathers.

Circumcision and penectomy are essentially the same thing, just differing levels of severity.

Circumcision makes sex unenjoyable, penectomy makes it impossible.

They're both bad, unless an adult chooses to do it to himself.

No one should do either to a child.
