Not the ones currently controlled by China. But as I’ve said above, Vietnam currently controls most of them.

Those naval statistics are out of date. We're currently buying new Submarines and Destroyers.

The naval strength of those two are currently even.

Plus, when it comes to total naval prowess we beat the Vietnamese, the nation which has the largest amount of seamen deployed all across the world is the Philippines. Maritime war, trade and transport is etched in our blood and souls vis a vis the more land lubbing Viets.

It's not necessarily about siding but my prediction of what would happen. But you are right, Vietnamese have pretty stellar military record whereas the Pinoys are fully colonized bending left to right whichever way the wind blows.

Vietnam had a shit ton of allies. In the Vietnam war, China and Russia supported North Vietnam against South Vietnam supported by the USA.

In the Philippine revolution we had none, our country was not even recognized in the family of nations. Likewise in the Philippine-American war we were also alone. Against a God damn superpower 10 times our population.

At least we have proven that we are brave enough to fight to the death, with no one to help us.
