Are Ukrainians patriotic?

I recently met a student from Ukraine and he had nothing nice to say about Ukraine and that he would never go back. How common is this?

I have no idea, imo not really. But there are many nationalists too. But the Ukrainian refugees in Slovakia are probably the best people I've ever seen.

Saying bad things about own country doesnt always mean somebody is not patriotic.

They are not patriotic at all because you cannot be patriotic with a made-up, fake identity.

It's hard to be patriotic when for last 30 years your goverment does nothing but skrew people and steal everything possible and impossible.
