Both contribute 50% to your biology. So both are technically equally important but sometimes you can choose sides which you feel closer to, sometimes others will identify you as one or the other (if you are mixed for example which you are not so you can most likely choose).

Nah, most Jews are patriarchal as well, and not all of them follow the Talmudic teachings when it comes to this sort of thing. I mean, biblical figures like Solomon and David had non-Jewish wives, and all of their children were considered Jewish despite that their mothers weren't Jewish but rather their father.

Paternal line of course, but I wouldn't exist without my mother so her line is important as well.

Both are equally important. I personally identify with my maternal side more cause I got my looks from my mother, who got her looks from my grandmother.

If you mean haplogroups, both are overrated and autosomal DNA is what truly matters.

My direct maternal line is German, my direct paternal line is Bosniak. And I'm none of that, but a Croat.

Depends on the individual. In my particular case, the maternal line is way more important to me.

This and both sides are important obviously.

The man in my avatar is my late maternal grandfather and I look exactly like him so that 50% was more dominant in my case.

It depends on who raises you and what identity/culture is most impressed upon you. By default and traditionally the paternal side would be more important as it's where you get your name and tribal allegiance. But it can go either way. My paternal grandparents died before I was born, so I can identify more with my maternal grandparents who I grew up with.

If the question is direct paternal line vs direct maternal line, the former is obviously more important. R1b Indo-European man vs K1 Farmer woman, nuff said.

They're both important. My dad's side and my mom's side are more Anglo and more Celtic, respectively. However, my paternal grandmother's grandfather came from Ireland. I was closer to my mom's side due to geography.

I had a great relationship with my dad, but I wondered if he was disappointed that I wasn't a mechanical car guy. ;-)
