What does not make you Spanish or Portuguese, I'm sorry, I know you would like it.
For Western Europeans it's probably true. However, I seriously doubt it when it comes to more Central or Eastern regions.
The ancestors of Eastern Europeans probably took refuge in the Balkans, Italy or Greece.

According to hooton pure dark eyes account for around 0,5% of irish population, while dark hair was far more common (around 3% proper black,40% dark brown), most of irish have blue or very light green eyes and dark hair, when i was in Ireland i rarely saw people with dark eyes.

40% of irish have pure blue eyes
    4% have grey eyes
    43% blue/green/gray hazel/blue eyes
11% green/brown or olive green eyes
    0,5% brown

    in terms of hair colour:

    3% black
    40% dark brown
33% medium to light brown hair
    15% blond
    9% red

Irish have an excess of rufosity...

The British have one of the highest frequency for blue eyes, if not the highest. There is scientific evidence for it!!

Show me your source for Scotland otherwise you're just talking bullshit. The largest study on Scotland was done by John Gray and he found 23% dark eyes. This is very similar to what TNH found (20%)
As for Ireland you only get 86% figure if you include eyes that are light mixed ("pronouncedly light mixed"). If you only include truly light eyes ("very pronouncedly light mixed") you get only 78%. A very similar figure to Scotland.

Please ask, if you don't know anything. The figure of 78% for light eyes, is for the entire United Kingdom and Ireland. While for Ireland and Scotland, it's above that.
A recent study alone already shows the British to have the highest frequency of blue or light eyes in Europe after Finland at 81%!

    Wonderful and informative thread!
I actually visited the British Isles in 2019 and can tell you that this girl was the darkest local I found, all natives of the British Isles are super duper Nordic.
    It's science, bro!

Writing numbers is useless if you don't cite sources. I cited mine (John Gray) while you didn't. Neither for entire UK, nor for Scotland.
