Amy is part of Club 27 (famous people who died at age 27, like Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse, etc.)
I like Irish and English folk-rock music and I love Celtic music... bands such as Clannad, Medwyn Goodall, All About Eve, The Corrs, The Cranberries, etc. I was listening to them a lot today and posted many in the 'I Am Now Listening To' thread.

Her singing voice and style reminds me a lot of her predecessor Alison Moyet (an English singer of English and French descent.)
They both sound and look similar (Alison has lost a load of weight with age though,) but I think Alison is a better singer than Adele.
Alison in her twenties...
Alison Moyet today (age 57)

Do you like Randy Crawford btw? My sister used to listen to her a lot when we were kids. She's a good singer from America.
Her singing voice reminds me of Gabrielle (an extremely popular award-winning British singer who me and my English friends love too) Me and an English boyfriend used to listen to her music (especially this song) a lot, before he suddenly died young... so I find it difficult listening to this as it brings tears to my eyes.
Poor Gabrielle always covers one of her eyes with either an eye patch or with her hair... as sadly I think she's blind in one eye.
This white English male group from East London featured Gabrielle in one of their songs.
R.I.P to both George Michael and Aretha Franklin.

George Michael had an amazing singing voice, and so did Jim Morrison. Some American people don't like George because he was gay, but he's popular in the UK. My Brazilian work boss loves GM's music and he's groomed and looked after George Michael's dogs when George was alive.
Jim loved the blues and incorporated a lot of blues-rock in his band's music.
