There are many interests for China in the Xinjiang region, so I don't think they will back off anytime soon.

We're constantly told by the media & our governments that mental health problems are behind Muslim terrorism so I think China has the right approach attempting to help their citizens who suffer from similar mental health issues.

I thought the Chinese way of "curing" (perceived) societal ills came in the form of a bullet administered to the back of the head and a bullet fee sent to the family ?
They seem to have updated a bit.

Chinese popular republic is orthodoxly doing what Stalin did with religion (of any kind) destroying it , because it's a parallel system of potentially uncontrolled power.

What happened to just putting bullets in heads and then denying it ever happened ? Must be "civilization" at work here.
