I guess we're similar because I love ancient and medieval Chinese history and culture. I suppose Romance of the Three Kingdoms got my Chinese interests started when I was 13-14, but now as an adult I am interested in Daoism, guqin, the Yijing, and spend the end of my day each day watching historical/wuxia/fantasy dramas in order to help me learn Mandarin.
