Antioch is a place where first Anatolian christians emerged and it became respected and even part of pentarchy.
Syrians were considered part of Roman ethnos and they were Christians before Islam.
It is true that Syrians ruled that part of Roman Empire but we must get facts straight here:
Anatolian Turks today have a significant Syrian ancestry in the East therefore Syrians can't claim that territory cause it's already under control of Syrian Turks.
The only thing they can claim a religious freedom there (that already exists) so ... Syria should calm down.
