The one drop rule is irrational and excludes many people who otherwise would be good nationalists. 1/8 seems like a good place to draw the line to me.

Absolutely agree with you. May be 1/8 is too much, but 1/32 (between 2% and 4%) or even less and when the person looks caucasoid it's really autistic to consider him/her in equal condition with another who is 30% off-caucasoid or more IMO.
Only to take advantage or if that person feels a special relation with that ancesty.

I am Octoroon (slightly under 1/8th African, father is 1/4/Quadroon). Of course I acknowledge it's there, but never really considered it a significant part of my ancestry as it doesn't show on me at all and i've never even met my fully African family. At the same time because of this African ancestry coming from a grandfather who was also half Chinese I lack the traits you'd expect from a person with 1/4 Chinese ancestry so I can't exactly tell people i'm 1/4 Chinese. It's a case by case sort of thing

Do you look like your parents or do they look super different, racially that is? I have people in my family, like my cousin who is half Chinese and European, he looks nothing like his parents.

I kinda resemble my parents but people at times sometimes think we're not related.

I look fairly different to my parents aha. My mum could probably pass as fully European at first glance (from photos of when she was younger though you can definitely see her South Asian ancestry). My father on the other hand has African traits which I lack completely, my hair is completely straight but his nose is broad and when he was my age his hair was very curly

Which of these 2 laws do you believe about being considered pure? the person who has 1/8 (or 1/16) of any race is considered `` pure '' or the famous One drop rule (which was applied in the USA)

In my opinion I considered the 1/8 (or 1/16) acceptable because the traits/features of another race genotypically do not show phenotypically, and the one drop rule I consider it very exaggerated, it is as if a Native American were considered white simply because they have 1% or less of that race.

But hey, I'd like to know your opinions and which of those two options you choose

I think it truly depends, there's many individual cases, I'll give u a mixed kid's perspective. I for example, am a bit more than 1/4 non white but half of that is Amerindian, with the other half being black, but i still get guesstimated to be around 25% amerindian (castizo range) even though funny enough i am harnizo, but still the amerindian is around half of what is perceived in here, with my black side usually being omitted in my phenotype or not being counted (mixed race kid insecurities coming back in lol), so i guess amerindian genes strong lol, sometimes 1/8 can influence more or less depending on the persons phenotypical inheritance. Its so weird, I get told i look castizo to fully european, idk even know how to perceived myself anymore (I was told fully European before revealing my results but that changed when i revealed them, so i dont even know which ones are the honest ones anymore), and in real life is even worse as in latam I am viewed as super white and in U.S.A and Europe as well, but obviously not as much as the nordid type of guys, so its super conflicting and hard to convince everyone, that I am not without obnoxiously trying to shove my dna results or family pictures down everyone's throats, so i thank god everyday for beign born in latam and for the U.S.A to have a wrong common racial misconception of what being latino is so i can jump that with most people, and even though i have never viewed myself as white, even as a kid..... being pale-ish, with green hazel eyes and light hair, never really did help my case. I think tbh that 1/8 is a good chunk to be considered admixed and to circumstantially influence something, but personally for me, the mixed spectrum starts at 1/4.
