I can see where people get the UK-Med connection from, despite Brits being further genetically from meds than the Dutch, we are an ugly people unlike nordics so people look for some sort of alternate origin and latch on to one that they find. Also dark hair is abnormally common in the UK compared to other parts of Europe that plot that north on a PCA.

It is just countries within the same latitude as Britain are also the blondest such as Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Nothing abnormal about the U.K. which further west from the Baltic region ("Blonde Core").
