Are there any anthropologists other than Coon or Ripley ?

In English and one that wasn't a total fucking idiot or Nazi like some others I've come across, because I know , much like history, this field has also been infested of people with agendas. I yet have to read all of Coons books though but I want to see someone else who studied different populations to get a broader picture.

It doesn't just have to be European populations. I'm also interested in the Middle East or West Asia.

The best anthropologists are v.Eickstedt, Schwidetzky and Coon. Only Coon is available in English. English-speaking anthropologists are, in general, not very good. Most of the anthropologists didn't write textbooks, there is Hooton (who is okay, but rather dull) and Sonia Cole. Also, Robert Gayre.

There's a leading social anthropologist who has written bestselling books such as 'Watching The English: The Hidden Rules of English Behaviour.' My Irish friend in London loved that intensely researched and well-written book so much that he told me I must read it. I also appreciated reading another cultural anthropology book about Geishas written by an American anthropologist who moved to Japan and learned about the mysterious ancient cultural art of Geishas. She even became a Geisha.

Another one is Seligman's Races of Africa.
Coon also wrote Origin of Races and Living Races of Man that cover areas beyond just Europe.
