I may think they are turds as people but De Niro (male) and Meryl Streep (female) are amazing actors, you can always bank on them being good. Michael Caine and Anthony Hopkins too (except I don't think they're turds). Jack Lemmon's nervous energy was brilliant for comedy and drama. Steve Martin and Rowan Atkinson were the best comedic actors.

I agree with Meryl and Robert, but the latter's recent movies tend to suck. He's as dumb as a rock in real life, and he can't order lunch without a script. Robert Duvall, as well as George C. Scott (born around my parents' hometown), don't get the acclaim that they deserve. The French say the same thing about Jerry Lewis.

Crap! I meant to add him for the reasons that you mentioned. I'll add him and Andy Griffith. The latter is my "say what?" choice, but he is like Robin Williams in his ability to play *very* diverse roles, from an evil politician to a hilarious hayseed to Andy Taylor to Matlock.

I love Anthony Hopkins, he is one of my favorite actors ever. Also Peter O'Toole.

IMO when it comes to actresses at least half their rating is how good looking they are. 1980s Basinger is one of best looking of all time.
