The UK needs to return to its old virtues. Until then, I'm quite happy where I am.
Wake up and smell the coffee.

Stuff costs less, including houses, and you get better service when you're out. I still prefer the UK overall. I love our history and culture, the people are more suited to my personality (I'm more reserved and Americans always point it out almost like they're offended) and because it's home and I am English...but I just like my life here. I'm content. For now anyway.
I live in the midwest.

I guess everyone has different experiences, but one of the things I thought was great about living in the UK was how inexpensive everything can be. You can choose to live simply, and cheaply. And customer service-- my wife and I were always so shocked that workers were so willing and seemingly happy to do their jobs.
Is it really possible that houses are cheaper in the US than in the UK? That's hard to imagine unless you're OK with living in a really horrible neighborhood...

It is fairly common for the older generation to downsize, they really got lucky with the house boom, can't see it lasting. London looks like it has peaked at least,
cheaper, quicker built homes dunno. But we do have a history of the landed gentry owning acres of land and they still do hold quite a bit in emptier parts.

Why would I want to live on a tiny island with 900 billion people on it who drive on the wrong side of the road? Bollocks!
Just kidding, I love the U.K. but it seems a little crowded for the most part. I understand there are less populated areas but overall I prefer the more wide open areas of North America.
That being said, I could live in the U.K., I just have no reason to at this time.
