Lol, that's not the rule. The rule is to divide by two and then add seven. If I were to use your method for my own age (23), then I'd get 13.5 which is way too young.

So 40/2 = 20 + 7 = 27

It depends. My mothers cousin is dating a 22 years old girl and they don't look creepy. Probably because he looks a little bit younger than he is. Still, you can see a clear difference in age, but it's not striking. If i were you i wouldn't hesitate. After all, it's legal.
