What is weird is that in real life, at here in America, Southern Indians do much better than Northern Indians/Pakistani's in terms of financial success and in society in general. A Nepali girl that I work with even told me that South India is much more civilized than Northern India, visiting both parts of the country.
This is generally true, it may have to do with coming from such a large and overpopulated region, North India, and also the hundreds of years of Islamic conquest in the region, it influenced their values.

Also, the South Indian diaspora is relatively small in comparison and come from a greater variety of ethno-linguistic groups. The North Indian diaspora is almost entirely ethnic Punjabis or Hindi speakers.

The vast majority of South Indians here in NY are Malayali Christians. South Indians without that background are very few. For North Indians, they tend to be either Gujarati or Punjabi and not anything else for the most part. Neither North Indians or South Indians come in any real diversity. Maybe its different in Australia.

Well, that is why I was talking about the diaspora. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lang..._United_States
According to the link, in America there's many more Hindi speakers than Gujrati and many more Tamil and Telugu speakers, Malayali wasn't mentioned in the list though.

Languages spoken in Australia other than English:

Dravidian languages in Australia are all quite equal in numbers.

I miss YemeniAntillean in TheApricity for example. IMO, he was a good poster, and it is sad that he ruffled a few Admin's feathers and got himself banned.

Even though genetically he was modeled as a Northern European shifted Quadroon, he insisted that he looked Middle Eastern. I didn't mind even though I did let him know that he wouldn't really pass typically in the MENA world(except as some kind of North African). I even sent him a private message showing my picture, and he said we don't look anything alike. It was a good PM though, as we spent talking about the differences between a Levantine nose vs Turkish and Armenian one lol.
only 2% of the Philippines have legit right to call themselves Mexican descendants

a lot of punjabis and gujaratis just put hindi on surveys. There's not many true hindi speakers in the US. most north indians in the US as mingle pointed out are punjabis and gujaratis. Then south indians like telugus and tamils are the most prominent groups. I see some marathis, malayalis, bengalis. Very rarely i meet any one from from up, bihar, other central indian hindi states.

this is all what we want, we just want to recover lost history. it might be mainstream knowledge, at least in California someday.

BTW for those that dont know the real meaning of ''Filipino' is European Spaniard born in the Philippines... we just used now as nationality to everyone in Philippines.

before filipinos my race was called luzones by the spainiards. the others were called visayans and moros.

That makes sense, I don't really know much on the status of many of these languages. Is Gujrati not a seperate language from Hindi?

yeah they are separate languages but for the ease on surveys they just pick hindi as their native.
