The myths go right back to the start of the war. The uncomfortable truth is that from the very beginning, it was Britain which sought a conflict with Germany, not Germany with Britain. Hitler’s real targets lay elsewhere, in Ukraine and Russia, and he was much less interested in us than we like to think.

Nor did we go to war, as many like to believe, to save or even help the endangered Jews of Europe. The veteran Labour MP Frank Field’s claim in his recent resignation letter that ‘Britain fought the Second World War to banish these [anti-Semitic] views from our politics’ is the most recent example of this common but mistaken belief...

Really? What's the point in WWII revisionism? The Allies won the war and should take pride in it, so if Ukraine and Russia as you stated were to be the primary targets of aggression does that mean the rest should just stand idly by? You cannot change history retroactively and as a French person you should embrace De Gaulle and denounce Vichy, otherwise you do not derive positive and constructive message from the history (which again you cannot change) at all.

Technically, if it weren't for that dumb immigration stuff and the stupid Euro, Germany would actually be the winner of WW2.

We both know why that pole said that. The Vichy government collaborated with the nazi invader during the war. They gave french citizens to their enemy.

It really says a lot about Britain's sympathies, doesn't it? We allied with Communist Russia and fought with them as friends, but we are antagonistic towards Free, Democratic Post-Soviet Russia and looking to fight her, even if it means World War Three. This country's government sucks.

Not only that, we'd also control Europe by economic means.

Actually in 1990, some leaders in Germany wanted to rapidly modernize the Eastern European states with German money and technology while at the same time deleveraging the Third World countries by an initiative led by the Deutsche Bank. But dark forces had something against that, they even killed Herrhausen, president of the Deutsche Bank.
