    Default British Americans







    that "unknown" ethnic group as shown in the image is supposed to be British American, if it is an accurate map then British Americans and German Americans have almost equal population in the US

    There has been so much mixing it is hard to say.

    The majority of those "British" and "Geman" Americans are usually not just "British" or "German" in ancestry. They're usually a mix of a whole bunch of North/Western European groups.

    So the number of people who are just of or predominately British and German descent is likely far less then those reported stats.

    there's a valid source of information that the British colonization of the Americas began in 1607 in Jamestown, Virginia, and since then the settlers who arrived from the British islands could have been mixed with the other ethnic European groups, primarily with Germans and Scandinavians for many years.. it's quite a complicated task to sort out the multi-ethnic mess in USA, therefore the term "white american" was invented.
