    And then the Philippines also has a political dynasty problem so what you have now would be even stronger: entire regions being ruled by one or two political dynasties who control the entire political, economical and social situation. Down to the Church (for what I have heard as they move their own people into the priesthood as well).

    I guess that federalism would only increase that social ill that is at the heart of the Philippines' problems: corruption.

    They're passing laws that bans Political Dynasties.

    Also, the new constitutional reform includes provisions to change the foreign ownership law. Foreigners can now own 100% of their land and businesses after the change in the constitution. In addition to this, applying for citizenship will now be easier in the new constitution.

    That makes retiring in the Philippines a much more interesting proposition.
