btw, just for everyone's information.
Böri(ng) already made the same claims in another thread and got his ass handed to him.
I wish Böring was a competent poster seeking dialogue, instead of a böring idiot who cannot be taken seriously.

Because since Romans had sincere esteeme and value for anything greek it started the other way around.
It was the romans first that Grecified their culture literature and religion(religion and roman pantheon was a bit different before that) .The grecification of the roman empire was so extensive that while it lasted there was a real sense of "romanity" and union from the romans. The greek model had "enriched" the roman society becoming sinonimous of Rome in a wider sense, the romans felt that the adoption of this model brang that much needed carachter of universality to their (universal)dominion.
In the meantime (until the fall of the west)the greeks just kept naturally being themselves like they have always been doing for centuries.
So at the fall of the western part of the empire one could say that the appropriation was much more in one way than the other and it was now time for the greeks to play the part of the ruler . Only now as rulers they adopted back charachteristics embodied by the western part (aka the romans) ;sinonimous with autority and power
. But still the appropriation was much more made by the romans than by the greeks.
Conscious or not the Romans through their worshipping of Greek Culture set the basis for the rise of a new, much more greek than properly roman, power that embodied romanity in a sense , but much less than how the culturally reformed romans had embodied greekness.

The Phoenicians built a port before the idea of your nation even existed.
The alphabet you used is also traced back to the Phoenician alphabet through the Latin which was a modified Greek alphabet which took its characters from the Phoenician.
Why don't you use Turkic runes. Oh wait, your countrymen would rather write with Latin alphabet or Arabic.

I taught English to Turkish children when I was in Germany.
One little Turkish girl, originally from Bursa, told me she was also learning another foreign language in the mosque.
I asked her, what language, she told me she is learning Arab in the mosque so she can enter heaven when she dies
