I am not very familiar with Puerto Rico's history but is there a way to know the origin and regions of most of its original settlers? If there was a significant number of colonizers from Galiza that might explain it. Galicians are strikingly similar to the Portuguese and most of them get from three to five dots on Portugal on 23andMe.

Actually there were many galicians settlers to Puerto rico during one time. You're probably right that it's due to my galician ancestry because even though my eugene k15 results closest approximation comes out to be Portuguese, on euro k13 its about even with galicia. My mothers last name is Otero which is a very common galician last name.

So it's prob the reason why. And I know that Galicia was once part of Portugal and are very similar in terms of language and ethnicity as a result
