If you're talking about genetics, things get murky, because there's a lot of differences in that regard even among Slavic countries. As to what ethnicity Romanians belong to, they belong to the Romanian ethnicity, obviously.

Romanians speak a Italic language with a lot of Slavic loanwords. Genetically though, they are closest to South Slavs.
