Have you warmed up to the idea of some sort of global flooding say about 11,000 BC. Many ancient tribes and people, from many places countries, have a flood story from a similar timeline. Could there have been a more rapid glacial melting in N. America and Europe with asteroid impacts hitting those areas? I read that around this time there was global warming, glacial melting, then it got colder again. The theory is that all the dust and chit that gets tossed into air blocks the sun, like mass volcanic eruptions. Would you consider this gradual glacial melting or rapid hell on Earth melting. Washington State.

First of all, it's very complicated, there are many different things going on, and some have to be studied by specific types of geologist and others by specific types of biologist.

All of the data--fossils, for example, are available to all of these people to keep studying and re-studying. Science is entirely open to everyone, that's why museums exist.
