Yeah HUD does 2 things. Give Section 8 vouchers so people can live anywhere, or buy build buildings for low income without a voucher.
The "projects" were often government owned HUD controlled. It is based on income, the lower the better. Which again is an incentive not to get married and combine incomes, same for food stamps, free child care etc. Basically the government encouraging out of marriage births. Also I didn't include any Chicago or Cook County free stuff.

Not a cause of crime. LBJ's Great Society welfare programs destroyed families. The vast majority of people locked up in prisons have one thing in common, no Dad or positive male role model that helped to raise kids. It it really a dumb thread to start though because it won't happen. People usually self segregate on socio economic status, income.

I concur that LBJ ruined America on many levels, especially with his immigration policies.

We have de facto voluntary segregation because most people prefer to live amongst their own kind, anyway.

I don't think legal segregation would work anyway. We have been there, done that. But I think the way we went about ending it was completely wrong. I know the city I live in was affected very negatively because of it.

Because the middle aged Negroes at Kroger's now have an uppity attitude?

Would there be segregation of services as well? Certain groups in America would suffer disproportionately, for example there is a lack of people from certain races that are medical professionals.

East Asians, while a small minority, they would end up being the most privileged class in America by default.

I think he just means segregating the Negroes from everyone else. That was what segregation was in the old days. I know some Chinese in Mississippi even joined White Citizen's Councils.
