so are you clustering with "pure blooded" Turkmens (more Mongoloid ones according to Turkmens themselves) or the other ones, eh? I doubt the available database of Turkmens on gedmatch or elsewhere accommodates those distinctions.

I've said this before, but the Turkmen sample on GEDmatch, like many other ones, may not be representative of Turkmens. It has far less East Eurasian than the Afghan Turkmen one.

Without knowing any details, I assume that the Turkmen sample is from Ashgabat since that's the capital. Ashgabat is in the southern tip of Turkmenistan and probably the least Mongoloid-influenced region of the country.

Though its interesting that Afghan Turkmens live slightly south of Ashgabat yet they score significantly more E. Eurasian than Turkmens do in GEDmatch.

They are not only non-representative but the sample sizes are likely very small. The samples are taken from large population centers, and these have historically been populated by Iranic city dwellers. Obviously mongoloid impact in those areas is going to be lower, and recent ancestors of Turkmens were more or less pure nomads, meaning not enough time has passed to create a more homogeneous population.
