Yeah, I also think so. How do I know? People still prefer their own culture above values. The French also introduced liberties the Catholic Southern Dutch never had in the Republican era. It didn't made them stop being Dutch patriots and looking at the French as occupiers (well, Napoleonic France was a brutal dictatorship out of necessity though lol, but Catholicism wasn't forced underground for the first time).

He presents Russia way too optimistic. At least he acknowledges Russian society can be 'very very harsh'. He's right, individualism takes commitment from oneself that isn't to be underestimated, but I wouldn't say it's a cancer. Society just needs to be able to handle it. That being said, I also prefer Europe over the US. I doubt I'd feel at home there.

Russia. Seems good to visit, but I'd feel alienated were I forced to live there (even as a wealthy man). It's his upbringing of course. It's hard to migrate abroad and fully detach oneself with what one's used to. He seems to think more in absolutes himself, though.

Most poles are not annoying pan slavists like you, so noone actually cares about Poland here. The Polish immigrants are welcomed, most are silesians with germanized names that germanize themselves in total, best assimilation if a group.
