I can understand the nostalgic feeling of Serbs having lost their ancestral kingdom, but I don't understand why in practice, they keep dreaming of retaking Kosovo, where it is inhabited by more than 90% of people hostile to them and economically relatively more underdevelopped

Let's imagine a scenario where there is a second Kosovo War, NATO doesn't intervene, Russia sends aid to Serbia, Serbian troops defeat Kosovo/UCK army, they retake Prishtina. Then there is a peace treaty where UN don't recognize Kosovo independence and accept that is just a region of Serbia

How in practice will Serbia maintain and manage a territory where the average Serb feel and is welcomed as a foreigner in its own land, surrounded by people that speak another language, don't share the same culture-religion-ethnicity, that only want one thing : separation from Serbia

You can keep such scenario only in a colonial authoritarian context, which is impossible to implement in our postmodern world nowadays

Anyway, to answer your post, this republic of Kosova is barely surviving with US/Western handouts, this Kosova is directly governed by Washington, Kosova is a USA colony, once bondsteel is gone, Kosova will be dust. Soon when Serbia boots out Albanian criminals and illegal immigrants from your kosova, the Albanians will be peaceful citizens of Serbia who will abide by the rule of law.

So how come there are almost no Kosovo Serbs or no Muslim Serbs ? Many of the Orthodox and Catholic people in Kosovo were Islamized, while some were Slavs, most of them were Albanians. Barely 160k Kosovo Serbs, enough to fill a town like Prishtina. The toponyms are a mixture of Slavic and Albanian too. None of these Ottoman registers show any massive movements or abandonment . 16th century shows Serbs as a minority in many areas , and that's assuming most Muslims are Albanians and counting people with only Albanian names. This is not counting the countless Albanians who still bore Serbian names. Everything also indicates Serbs were mostly located in the eastern parts of Kosovo in the 17th century right before Austrian-Ottoman wars. This is not counting the Serbs that moved in to Kosovo during the Ottoman period from other areas after Austrian-Ottoman wars. Many of these families came from Serbia proper, Montenegro etc.


Just a bit strange. Also claiming Albanians are 18th century immigrants is funny considering it shows Albanian majority before that in many areas including South-East Serbia and no movements nor massive abondment. Kosovo was filled with Albanian names even in the 15th century and many Albanians bore Serbian names including in Serbia. Even villages just having one Albanian name and the rest non-Albanian names and most of the people were actually Albanian.


Even the Orthodox people in the region of Peja were eventually Islamized. And most of them seem to of been Albanians.



These people pull theories right out of their ass, claim things that have no evidence, claim all the people with Serbian names as Serbs and claim genocide but they genocided Albanians out of the Nish-Toplica area.

They claim Serbs led a revolt against the Ottomans in Kosovo in 1689 but these were actually Albanians . This is literally what the texts say and even the demographics of that time support this. Prishtina was mostly a Muslim Albanian town. They claim mass amount of Serbs left this territory during that period when most of these areas were inhabited by Islamized people. Including Prizren which was mostly a Muslim Albanian town. And the Austrians referred to it as 'Capital of Albania' .

There is no country on earth that is ethnically "clean" you have very bad arguments.
