It would be interesting to discuss if the love for your kids is different to the love for your spouse. I consider my husband my soulmate, best friend and the person I want to spend time with the most, but I could live without him as much as it pains me to say (I'm sure he would say the same). But the love you have for your children is something fierce and primal. A life without them would be unimaginable. The love is equally strong but very different.

I agree with this 100%.
The love between a significant other and children is different.
I have expectations from my significant other as he does with me. (and it should always be this way imo) I consider the love I have for him to be out of loyalty and respect. But if he were to do something that I consider betrayal (Lets just say infidelity as an example) Then that respect and love I have for him would be gone.
The love I have for my children though is unconditional. There is nothing that they could possibly do to make me love them any less.
