even though it makes no sense logically, Near East and Middle East are the same.
Being Greek is an experienced grounded into nation, not consumption.

It is not a big secret. Greece is Western European. It is not WE because of geographic location but the culture and history. Ancient Greece is considered founder of the Western civilization.

The Near East is a geographical term that roughly encompasses Western Asia. Despite having varying definitions within different academic circles, the term was originally applied to the maximum extent of the Ottoman Empire. The term has fallen into disuse in Englishand has been replaced by the terms "Middle East" and "West Asia", the former of which may include Egypt, and the latter strictly Southwest Asia, including the Transcaucasus.
According to the National Geographic Society, the terms Near East and Middle East denote the same territories and are "generally accepted as comprising the countries of the Arabian Peninsula, Cyprus, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestinian territories, Syria, and Turkey".[1] As of 1997, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations defined the region similarly, but also included Afghanistan.[2]

If by Western world you mean Western civilization, then all of Eastern Europe (except Bosnia & Albania I guess) are part of the Western world.

The Near East is usually considered a subregion of the Middle East. Originally, both were synonyms.

Its debatable. Sure East Europe is European and Christian...
But some people randomly decide Cold War makes more sense,
or Orthodox Greece is West, and Orthodox Ukraine or Russia is not.
(ya I get the argument "West" or democracy started in Greece, but that means not much, the "world" was Hellenic centric, then Roman, then so on).
Before Catholic Church was West, then came along Luther. Now Americans are West.
Next some people say Liberal Democracy is West.
Geographically it makes most sense for North and South Americas. Cultures change.

IMO, if Greece is Western then so are Ukraine/Russia. If Greece isn't Western, then neither are they. I group all Orthodox countries together when discussing civilization stuff. Ex-communist Catholic countries are definitely 100% Western. Not Western Euro (debatable), but definitely part of Western civilization. Western civilization generally refers to all European (and maybe MENA) Christian nations. But some definitions say only Protestant-Catholic countries are part of Western civilization.

MENAs contributed to Western civilization since the Fertile Crescent is often said to be the "Cradle of Civilization". But nobody says that MENAs are part of Western civilization, so I can understand the argument for excluding Orthodox countries (inc. Greece) from the West since their contributions were in ancient times before the Great Schism. Anyways, most people consider all Orthodox countries to be part of Western civilization; and that includes Greece, Russia, Ukraine, etc.

First part is understandable. But for many European/white people in Western Europe and North America wouldnt count them.
It might be because for them only Catholic/Protestant are West, or Cold War propaganda still effecting views (EU/NATO divisions).

What are your views on South America? Americas were "discovered" by Iberian Spain/Portugal, originally colonies of Catholic Portugal and Spain.
    They are more diverse though.
