Brown widow spider, native to Africa, found in Oregon for first time


OREGON CITY, Ore. – The Oregon Department of Agriculture is investigating after a woman in Oregon City found a spider on her property that’s native to Africa.

According to the Oregon Department of Agriculture, brown widow spiders have been seen before in California, Florida, and other states near the Gulf of Mexico – but never in Oregon.
