Understood. I was only focusing on hair texture. Fälids typically have a similar hair texture.

Gleeson is Not Fälish, this is True. However a fine hair texture is characteristic to both Nordid and Fälid.

Not according to Beddoe. He claimed that there was "little" red hair in Holland at 1.81%, "not much" in Flanders at 2.18%, but much more in Westphalia at up to 3.8%. It should be noted that he used a fairly liberal standard of rufosity, and he points that the German red verges on blond (he is more or less referring to the rufoisty of the Faelid type).

The most reliable data on the Netherlands which comes from the survey of schoolchildren by Louis Bolk indicate an aggregate figure for red hair of 2.45% with Drenthe being the maximum at 2.78% and Zeeland the minimum at 1.88%

However the standard for red hair appears to be quite general in the Dutch survey, while with Virchow's survey of the German Empire the stadards were very limited, with Virchow instructing that only flaming-red hair was to be considered as red.

It would not do much use to compare between two surveys when they have different standards, but they can still be used to accurately compare populations within a state.

Interestingly, the frequency for Dutch Jewish schoolchildren and Ethnic Dutch Schoolchildren was quite close with 2.47% of urban Dutch Jewish schoolchildren being redheaded and 3.4% of rural Dutch Jewish schoolchildren (much smaller population) being redheaded which comes to an overall figure of 2.56%.

2.56% is the figure for Gelderland, so you could say that Dutch Jews are equivalent in rufosity to Gelderlanders. This is significant because Gelderlanders as with all other Dutch people are much lighter haired and eyed than Dutch Jews and this shows clearly that the correlation between light features and rufosity is not necessarily particularly strong.

Anyway, although the Netherlands probably has a greater frequency of red hair than Germany as a whole, I am doubtful that the frequency would be greater than parts of Northwestern Germany such as Westphalia.

Apparently it is a little common in North Germany according to my grandmother (who is from Lower Saxony). My mother, grandmother and both her parents have/had red hair.
