Is reddish hair texture common in Germany?

barely. More common in the region of Trás dos Montes. There are entire villages of red haired people there.

Riffians are actually more rufous than all Iberians (possibly even Galicians/Asturians).

Might be around 3 percent. I guess, it is relatively more common in Northwestern Germany.

I would say the 2% commonly claimed is fair as an aggregate. However, In Westphalia and the Rhineland it can be almost twice that proportion.

Coon actually visited Morocco in 1925 so they are indeed personal observations.
