It's not an exclusively Jewish surname but again there were always rumours he was Jewish. Basically all the top Nazi's had rumours of Jewish ancestry confirmed or unconfirmed. We must remember they had the ability to manipulate or manufacture evidence or simply declare themselves Aryan. Hitler was a often Jewish surname also.
