I'm guessing they eat more fish there? That's the secret to long life tbh.

All four of my grandparents have live into their 80s. My paternal grandfather died at 87 due to diabetes complications. He had a wound in his foot that didn’t hheal and became gangrenous. They wanted to remove his leg but he was so old the chances of it working and not killing him in the process were very small.

Although, 2 of them had pretty severe diabetes, the other had diabetes that she kept under control. One of my grandfathers was a lifelong smoker and recently had his bladder removed (cancer) as a result, but otherwise he is healthy.

I feel lucky to have 3 grandparents still living in my 20s.

Three of them. My maternal grandfather passed away rather young, he was in his mid 50s, paternal grandfather passed away at 80, maternal grandmother will turn 90 in a few weeks and my paternal grandmother passed away at 97. I also have a few grandaunts/uncles who got over 90, one is alive and will turn 93 soon. My great grandfathers also passed 80, except one who was murdered in his early 30s.

All of them, though only one is still alive - my mom's mom - but her parents died fairly young as far as I know, ironically. All of my other great grandparents lived into their 80s as well, a couple of them into their 90s.

I've got 3 living grandparents, one on the way out. My paternal grandfather died of heart & lung problems in his mid to late 70s. I do have a great grandfather who's still alive that is in his mid to late 90s & his wife, my great grandma lived into her 80s. I have a now dead great grandmother that lived into her 90s on my dad's side as well.
In all, pretty much all of my family has died in their 70s or later for the last 3-4 generations, & most of them lived to their 80s, & some to their 90s.
