Default What is the average lifespan of your paternal line?

Go to your family tree, and write down the age at death of every man in your direct paternal line and average the numbers. Do not include living men.

    Mine is 58.

    An interesting topic.

    Mine is 80+60+49+58+43+86+63 = 63 average

Of the only closely related paternal line I have that goes back to the beginning of parish registers.

    76+67+72+39+58+82+59+46+?+61+57 = 62 average

    Mother's paternal: 66

Given what I've seen I'd say around 60 is about the average life-expectancy of married adults, at least in my neck of the woods in the early-modern period: England-Wales border.

My grandfather died at 89 and I don't know the exact ages of his fathers but they also lived to ripe old ages. I've got the longevity genes in me!

Going back through deceased members of my paternal line to as far as I'm aware of: 88 (grandfather, stomach aneurysm), 50 (great grandfather, pneumonia), 96 (great great grandfather, old age), 89 (3x great grandfather, no clue but I'm assuming old age) = average age is 80.75. Corresponds pretty much with the average male life expectancy in my country today, but I'd hope I can do better than that - my great grandfather died to something that would've been treatable had he contracted it in modern times, so I would like to think I might be able to edge my way over the average slightly.

My mother's paternal line is pretty impressive, though: 89 (maternal great grandfather, asbestos poisoning), 110 (maternal 2x great grandfather, old age), 101 (maternal 3x great grandfather, again I have no clue but I'm assuming old age) = 100 years average age. My maternal grandfather is still living, 78 years old and he unironically looks (and behaves) about twenty years younger. I hope I've inherited these genes from him.

Probably not very long because my paternal line has a history of diabetes and bowel cancer.

My paternal grandpa is 85 years old. As for the rest, save for my father, I don't know.

70 is the mean of their lifespans. Most lived to be in their 80's but some died in their 60's.
