German, after that goes French, Spanish or Russian (roughly the same popularity)

    French.

And after French it is German. Already said that in an earlier reply, but I'll give more background info this time.

I do notice, whenever I bring up my best French on the Belgium subreddit to a Francophone post, the Flemish react in English. French is too much of a hassle. They have too think too hard using it compared to English. Many people here hate the course. The younger the less proficient in French for some reason. I also am one person who types in Dutch for half of the time there. Belgium subreddit being forcefully English disturbs me, for the sake of Francophones who live in their own world. They can use google translate or learn Dutch like I learned French lol.

I personally just try my best and am unashamed about my imperfect grasp of the language. My French is mediocre, but following French YT'ers is no problem.

But I want to learn the much harder and less useful Czech. Maybe I'd add Finnish as a true challenge at a later stage, but that plan is on a halt for the time being.
