Not at all. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. This was a lie that was sold to the American public to justify the Iraq war of 2003, and nothing more than that. Also America targeted Iraq, because it was the regional power in the region and it could threaten it's security and interest in the Arabian peninsula, so Iraq had to be taken out. Thus the Americans and their allies began a black propaganda campaign against Iraq, which only ended in 2003. Iraq actually fought against Al-Qadia and other related groups and crushed them. However they all began once the government of Iraq had been destroyed by America and it's allies. The goal of the Gulf war, was to weaken Iraq as regional power. This happened and to secure American interest and bases in the Arabian peninsula . The second Gulf war or known as the war of 2003, was to finish Iraq, and also to plunder it's oil reserves, and not mention to protect Israel. However what the Americans and their allies did not anticipate was the destabilization to come as result, and the large amounts of refugees that it created especially with the Syrian migrant crisis, since Syria was somewhat destabilized due to the Iraq war invasion. The Americans also empowered Iran as the regional power because it's serves their interest in the region nothing more and nothing less.
